I've been trying to sneak in some Warren Zevon here from time to time, and since he died on the 7th of september ten years ago today I thought I'd post a video here in his honour again :)He's the only artist I've bought every single album of (save one that's unavailable in Norway), and I'm pretty sure I'll listen to this guy's his music until the day I die myself. This song he wrote when he knew he was going to go, as a part of his last album.

This song was also sung by The Young People's Choir of NYC three years ago in connection with another tragic anniversary that's coming up (I would embed it if I could, but I don't know how to embed non-youtube videos). It's a beautiful version of the song, and probably more pleasant to ears that are not used to Zevon's voice Smile

In that case I recommend you start with the album that's called "Warren Zevon" (his second, but generally considered his real debut), and also the compilation "Genius: The best of Warren Zevon" (even though it lacks several of his best songs). If you don't find any songs you like, I'll find some for you Wink You being the crabbit soul you are should find his lyrics much to your taste Smile

When Warren Zevon said to "enjoy every sandwich" I think he was tacitly excluding Subway.

Pot Belly is better than either, if you like wonderfully crunchy spicy peppers. I ask them to spoon on gobs of the stuff.

Unfortunately I've only been to Pot Belly once or twice so I can't really judge them. Another candidate I feel like I should try out more is Firehouse Subs.

Unless you got the peppers it's the same as the rest. Next time I find myself in a Potbelly I'm buying a jar. Don't fear the peppers!

Oh yeah. I just had lunch at our local Grange picnic potluck with lots of home made hot dishes and pasta salads, and hotdogs on the barbeque. I don't even know were the nearest sandwich shop is, though our local tavern does a pretty decent burger.  I think the culinary  and cultural divide is pretty accurately represented  by the map that Eldo posted where 50% of the population live in less than 150 counties.

We eat a home-cooked meal, sitting down at the table together as a family, just about every night. My mom has always been very insistent about that. I enjoy it, I like being able to spend time with everyone even if we're all busy with our own stuff during the rest of the day and talk about things that are interesting. Dave's right though that it's incredibly easy to get by on prepared food if you live in a built-up area.

RIP to native Baltimorean and bestselling author Tom Clancy. I never read any of his books, but a lot of people I know who share my interest in military history got into it through Tom Clancy's books.

RIP Paul Walker, the heart and soul of the F+F films, a great actor (in the franchise terms at least) and all round nice bloke. Thoughts with his family and co workers.

Don't know this will effect the 7th film in the series, currently being filmed.

I really dont like hearing of people "popping off", especially if I like them, that they were young, & its always so more noticeable when its near Christmas.
