Any ideas about how to stop it? Could it be that I mostly login via mobile internet?

I once found a Suicidal person hiding behind a couch --- spooky, right.... though surreal might be better description...

Didn't they know you cant commit suicide by hiding unless its in an old trunk in an attic?

His car was in his garage with pipe in exhaust and running, we could hear it through the roller-door ... that's why I followed my burglar training (thanks Bilbo! ) to find a way into the house. Only damaged a flyscreen doing so. Then I went through the house with my torch to let my Partner in through a door. She was surprised to see me inside the house* - and a little unnerved I entered a dark house to find a Suicidal person without back-up. It never crossed my mind a person gassing himself in a car would be anything but indisposed. Anyhow, he weren't in the car, so I turned the engine off and went searching. And sure enough, there he is hiding behind a couch in hs loungeroom, lying down. I only half expected him to be in the house, and there was that split second thing I've had several tmes when hunting for folk in houses, where your mind goes blank for a second or two --- I call it the "unreal moment."


(*Actually, I commend myself for having an uncanny ability get into houses without too much damage. Crashing doors or windows is less satisfying than finding a carefully hidden key, or jiggling or wriggling a sliding door, or sliding away a few roof tiles to get through a manhole, and there are other means too. But I shan't say more, in case there are other Burglars here! )

I have a feeling you have a wealth of weird cop stories to tell, drop us a few if you feel like it and it doesnt land anyone in the doo doo.

If it helps at all Ally, I think this is a perfectly lovely thread, and I'm willing to tell everyone you made it ALL by yourself... And one day I'm sure you'll be come up with another one --- surely one that will be even more interesting than this. It's something we can be absolutely sure about - surely... Threads here should always be "quality' not "quantity" -- and now you've done one.

Maybe I should go to sleep now, this late night interneting can't be good for my soul

Is this still a problem for you? Clearly you were able to sign in and post but does this message keep popping up every time you try to sign in to the forum? Or did it stop?

I did some poking around and it appears that this is related to a relatively new anti-spam feature that Forumotion has implemented across all the forums they host. They get blacklists of usernames and IP addresses from companies like Google and Yahoo (apparently ... I don't know how that really works on a technical level, but that's the explanation they gave). You can read a discussion of it on the Forumotion support forums here.

If this is still an issue for you then I can contact one of the support people and they'll be able to remove you from the blacklist if they determine you're not a real spammer (and I can't imagine why not). This seems to have been a recurring issue for a number of Forumotion sites lately. Anyway, just let me know if this is still an issue and I'll see what I can do.

So Ally is a secret spammer then?
I do hope they sort this, had a read of the link, sounds like a well intentioned but less well implimented program to weed out spammers that is not defintely not quite working right.

I stumbled accross a site once that gave you a way to view a whole list of sites and if they had ID'd you as Suspicious/Spammer. But you don't have to spam to get identified as one. Doing certain things or maybe some unusual circumstances can get you marked as a spammer erroneously.

Sometimes using a different browser can sidestep problems you are having with the one you are using.

I blame the sofa, blue is so 80's. Maybe Halfwise left some of his spam sandwiches down the back of it?
