Saoirse Ronan is NOT signed on (yet)

This just in from TORn. Sounds like the earlier rumours jumped the gun a bit.

She does make it sound like she's been in talks though, so I shouldn't get too hopeful.

Should I be happy? Or should i be sad at even more rumours?

Even if she is not cast would that mean the character was gone in a sudden fit of sense? Or just that they were casting someone else?

No idea. There have been so many reports on the whole Itaril mess that I don't know what to think, so I'm just going to wait until there's an official announcement.

On a happier note, Dominic "Merry" Monaghan won't be coming back for the TH. I thought he had a fine performance in LOTR, but I'm heartened by this news, since Merry has absolutely no business being in The Hobbit.

Its come to something when we are celebrating news of something not being in that should never have arisen in the first place!

I suppose it's all a matter of perspective. I was feeling so crabbit over the past few days that any news of this sort was good news.

Why all the Saoirse Ronan bashing? She's a talented actress, young and pretty, and I'm sure she will be a perfect addition to The Hobbit:Part One!
I heard a rumour that would be getting a role in The Hobbit too. Now that would be cool!

I've never seen any of her movies, but it's the proposed character of Itaril that has me crabbit. I've nothing against Ms. Ronan herself.

By the way, Saoirse is fine as an actor, but if Itaril is in the movie, it should be Kate Beckinsale.

Emma Watson should be in The Beren and Luthien film.

You're dreams have come true GB it was indeed a wardrobe malfunction! According to the Sun newspaper- who had pictures of it next to an article about how terrible it was people were looking at it- they said it was a 'tape failure'!

Was all over the tabloid newspapers here Eldo. They love that sort of thing- sells papers, titillates (appropriate word really), and provides inches of gossip column. And they then get to have a disapproving editorial tone about the whole thing whilst publicising it to sell more papers. Capitalism at work really.
I think the only time tabloids take the word 'creepy' into consideration to check and make sure they are being it.

Just because I stick up for Women's Rights and I'm pro-feminist, doesn't mean I'm not appreciative of "wardrobe Malfunctions." I'm still a heterosexual male, with all the baggage that comes with it. I'm just straightforward about it.
