Roverandom
I have a copy of Tolkien's Roverandom. (I found it in my brother's bookcase where I was snooping yesterday - but don't tell him! ) Has anyone read it? I've got a lot to read at the moment, so would it be worth it? I didn't even know it existed until yesterday.

I've read it and definitely worth the read, Anne. (And I would know, as I know just about everything that's worthwhile to know).

All the professor's work is superlative really, so it would have to depend upon what sort of writing you like. It was not my favorite but I am glad still that I read it.

Re: Roverandom
Tolkien's epic which was LOTR drew me in, but I'm sure it's still an excellent read, whatever demographic Tolkien wrote it for!

Re: Roverandom
I read the first 20-30 pages in a bookstore once, but I ended up not actually buying Roverandom since I already had something else I wanted more. Still, I enjoyed it in a light-hearted kids-book way (far kiddie than The Hobbit, but not insultingly so). I'd like to finish it sometime if I ever stumbled across a copy again.
Re: Roverandom
I do intend to read it. At the moment I have just started reading a book about John Monash, which is quite thick, so it may be a couple of weeks until I do. Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: Roverandom
You can read a thick book in a couple of weeks? It took me like four months to read Bob Dylan's Chronicles which is I think about 200 pages, paperback!
It does sound like a book I'll have to eventually read to get my tolkien lore points up though, though to be fair, Eldo hasn't read it all either!

I'm still sitting here waiting for that review so I can decide whether or not to buy the book.
Re: Roverandom
if nora wrote the review nora could just tell you to buy it or not to buy it

Re: Roverandom
I've read this, but don't remember much of it, except that I was disappointed it wasn't part of the other mythology
