Artisitc Merits

The reflections are well done and often ignored in lake portrayals.

I see it as a rainy day and the trees are reflected in the puddles. You get that kind of icy cold steel light with rain and thats what I see

Since you insist on kvetching about your own work, I should point out on a second look that the reflections from the distant trees are stronger than those in the near trees. I think running a piece of rubber across the far tree reflections might balance things out if smudging can be avoided. Other than that I don't know what you have been complaining about.

That one's a captivating subject. though yeah, it seems you have foreground and background switched.

The plan was to have a large tree either side, or parts of them that would have given it a foreground and created a bit of depth by making the main picture seem as if seen through a doorway between the trees either side. }}

this may be your most realistic yet. reflections done perfectly, leaves in the foreground gently waving in the wind. Nice framing.

I had somehow never really glanced at this thread until now, and really Petty I think you are selling yourself short they may be quick sketches but are great images nonetheless, I certainly couldn't draw or sketch anything at all close to that clarity.

Certainly a more constructive use of your breaktimes at work than mine lol.

Wowzer! This stuff is uncanny, spooky but extremely beautiful. I have never seen visuals like this before. i just wish modern films would look as imaginative as this.    
I love the pearly, shiny, golden sugary surfaces. I am sure there are colours that I have never seen before.

Them faeries are pretty chatty, huh?
