So far this is "Who can make the other one look like the biggest asshole".

Re: US General Election 2016
It's been bad and Hillary hasn't looked good the whole time but Trump had a genuine meltdown about half an hour in.
Re: US General Election 2016
But he didn't look like the total whack job he has in the past. That alone will bring up his percentages.

Re: US General Election 2016
How anyone can still take Trump seriously..
How anyone can buy the, "Someone is as bad as me!" argument..
How anyone can buy a candidate turning the election into a farce to save himself from his own blunders...
I think it's over, and it has been for days, this has been an absolute farce..

Re: US General Election 2016
Trump recovered his composure somewhat and finished the debate without it turning into the complete disaster I was hoping for, but most of the post-debate polls show people thinking that Hillary won, which generally correlates with a bump in general polls in the aftermath.

Great segment. I haven't watched The Daily Show regularly for years, since before Stewart left, but what I've seen of Trevor Noah has been good and, as far as I can tell, steadily improving.
Re: US General Election 2016
LoL. Thanks to Trump he's totally finding his voice. He was always an amazing standup comedian, but it would have been taken a gift from God to find his own way after John Stewart. Nobody can deny Trump is a comedian's gift from God.

'Donald Trump's two Scottish golf courses together lost about £9.5m last year, according to accounts filed with Companies House.
The Trump Turnberry golf resort in Ayrshire, which the US presidential hopeful bought for an undisclosed sum in 2014, made a loss of almost £8.4m.
In the previous year, the resort lost £3.6m.
Mr Trump's other Scottish course - Menie in Aberdeenshire - lost nearly £1.1m.'- BBC Scotland

Re: US General Election 2016
it was a Frankenstein creation to begin with, and since Congress has shown no interest in fixing it, it will lurch off into oblivion. But...for a while there it really DID get people on insurance who couldn't afford it, and the pre-existing conditions law will hopefully be here to stay.

Re: US General Election 2016
I wouldn't have health insurance otherwise. When I tried to get insurance 10 years ago I was told it would cost about $2,000 a month because I was "high risk" (I'm a leukemia survivor.)
The first year of Obama Care was about $10 a month. Last year was about $14. If it goes up by 50% next year it will be $21 which is still only about 1% of what it would have cost before.
I'd call that affordable.

Thanks for the concern Figg. Frankly I'm a little surprised anybody's heard about our coastal weather, let alone on the opposite side of the world! It's not so bad really, at least not yet. The winds last night took out the electricity for about 4 hours, but that's pretty normal for a first storm before all the tree limbs have been shaken down for the first time. Tonight should be a little more exciting. The high tides are rising and so is the sea state, so we may see more erosion and flooding. I'll let you know if anything really exciting happens.

I've never seen the media do so much leg work for a candidate. Dems must be thrilled; Hillary doesn't even need to campaign anymore. I really don't even see the need for a national vote.

Re: US General Election 2016
This is what Trump has been doing all his adult life -- stealing the headlines. And the media has always eaten it up. Love him or hate him, Donald has always been good for ratings!

There's a good chance Trump wouldn't have won the primary if the media hadn't been reporting on him so much every time he said something outrageous. Not their fault that Trump finally found a group that his potential voters cared about enough to be offended by his disparaging (to put it lightly in this case) comments and behavior towards. Though TBH probably the biggest reason the story blew up is that this time considerably more GOP officials starting distancing themselves from Trump, which they started doing before even a full news cycle had passed, though some have since backtracked or continued to waffle about him.
