I seem to remember nutation of the north pole follows a 13,000 year cycle.

{{{um, that implies their records must have begun in 23,000bc in order for them to be able to record the changes over 13, 000 years on a stone in 10,000bc. That's really, really early from what we currently think as they'd not only need the stable society to do that, but the means to do so and the means of recording it and passing it on- oral tradition could do that but you need a long period of continuity for that info not to get lost, chinese whispered or lose its original meaning across changing culture. }}}

Acheulean hand axe technology remained almost unchanged for something like a million and a half years, so that would probably have to count as a long period of continuity. It kind of makes you wonder what those guys understood about the stars....

I'm fond of armour. I like the designs, the craftsmanship, decoration, the hard work that went into creating something stunning.

We got a whole room of the stuff at the Museum of Art here (including one used for Henry VIII, and how in hell did America get that??), but some of those go far beyond what I've seen down the road. Actually I think that last on IS from down the road.

Facebook has so much crap on it.
Heck, I guess the internet does in general.
