FAVORITE SAYINGS OR QUOTES
As we do sometimes wax philosophical here, I thought it might be nice to post some of our favorite sayings or quotes. (But pleeease, only one or two at a time. I feel that simple sayings or quotes demand close attention and thought. If we post twenty at a time we'll just flick over them without taking time to ponder them. Btw I will at times quote from memory, so not necessarily word for word. I invite others to do the same if they haven't got thir quote close to hand. Friendly correction approved though! )
"The more I know the less I know." (Socrates)
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." (Jesus - and others)

"I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me" - General George S. Patton. Perhaps not so deep, but there's some good, common sense in that quote

Excellent selections my friends.
.'The totally convinced and the totally stupid have too much in common for the resemblance to be accidental.'
-Robert Anton Wilson
For some reason this one reminds me of something a collegue said to me about 25 years ago (or more). Something along the lines of: "The less I know about something the stronger my opinion is." Can't remember exactly how it was said, but I often catch myself out doing it!

Re: FAVORITE SAYINGS OR QUOTES
Well, as we are doing about Gandhi in R.E, i thought that i should do a few of his quotes.
'An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind'
'Be the change that you want to see in the world'

Re: FAVORITE SAYINGS OR QUOTES
Not exactly fitting for here but close enough. On my way home from work I passed a house on whose garden gate was one of those notices where they have a picture of the family dogs and a warning- usually something simple like "I live here." This one was of two rather feirce looking Rottweilers beside which it said "We live here and we can make the gate in 2 seconds. Can you?"
Now thats a fair warning!

Thanks Petty - I think! I just resized it now, having taken one look at it and almost couln't fit it on the netbook screen!
The first one with the animation on is from the Taylor Swift website and the second one is one that I made myself! It originally looked like this:
As you can see, it's not that good quality and is really bright, so i sharpened it and darkened it. Then i added text (like a distant diamond sky) and a border and i rounded the edges and added lots of stickers etc etc and i put it in my sig!

Re: FAVORITE SAYINGS OR QUOTES
Yeah, that's definitely a huge sig. I hope no one here is on dial-up or I'm sure those images would take forever to load. Maybe it would look a bit better and less cluttered with just one image.
Re: FAVORITE SAYINGS OR QUOTES
Yeah I was thinking of it anyway...
Bye bye my favourite T-Swizzle song

Re: FAVORITE SAYINGS OR QUOTES
I think I might make a graphics thread where people can admire my graphics! Good idea?
Anyway, we're awfully off topic...
WAIT! No we're not because we're talking about my sig and it has quotes from Taylor Swift songs!! HA!!!
Yay! I beat the off-topic monster!
