Because it's not a myth.

- I mean it's kinda bullshit but it's based on a kernel of truth which is why it's been a lot more persistent than, say, Canadian exceptionalism. It's hilarious when Brits in particular ask this question given Britain's decades-longs struggle (and failure) to come to terms with itself as a post-imperial nation. Where do you think us Americans got the whole exceptionalism idea from in the first place?
Re: Just...................whatever [5]
Loving the new avatars everyone. Especially Petty's.
It is kind of weird. I'd never glanced at it twice, but when I noticed you and THA both had similar avatars I had to ask, and then it seemed like fun to join in.

I bet it was Lance's middle finger that got you all excited.

Welcome to the dark side, Blue!
I dunno how long I'll keep this one, but I am kinda feeling like an ATLA avatar again after this one, since I'm continuing my rewatch after a break for Game of Thrones and anime stuff.

Actually I was just about to watch The Drill.

Excellent choice. I've been revamping my list of favorite episodes as I go and I expect The Drill to rank well, although there are so many good choices in Book 2.
Re: Just...................whatever [5]
Yeah, I think I like all of season 2. Except perhaps The Swamp, I thought the hilbilly waterbenders a bit much, although it was better than I remember when I rewatched it recently, and the Apa episode is a bit indulgent, but fun.

Re: Just...................whatever [5]
I like "The Swamp" a bit better than a lot of ATLA fans I know, but it's definitely one of the weaker ones in the season. "Avatar Day" is my hands-down worst episode of Book 2 though. It ranks down there with some of those tonally weird "finding their feet" episodes from Book 1 (though I generally think Book 1 is underrated).
"Appa's Lost Days" is dope. I'm fond of a lot of the episodes that narrow in on a single character for special focus, and I think it's great that they gave an animal character an episode like that. It's mid-tier, granted, but for being largely non-verbal and such a change of pace from the rest of the arc I think it's an impressive accomplishment.

Hold on let me photoshop them all onto a roundabout.
Naw but seriously, can the face app handle hair as magnificent as Halfy's?

Whaaa.. I like Avatar Day.
The Rough Rhinos are a bit easily defeatable, and there's not much that happens, but I liked the whole putting the Avatar on trial thing. (Maybe that' the lawyer in me talking.)
The community service thing is really silly, but I can't help but laugh at it.

Yeah, as an idea it's great. I'm just not sure the content merits a full episdoe. But, true, it something different you do once. And as such it's a lot of fun.

The only one I really like is Petty's. The rest got no personality. I'll be happy when this fad wears off...
