Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
Out in Central Pennsylvania at the bottom of a deep gorge is a very beautiful but very icy stream. You walk along it, slipping on moss, jumping from rock to rock, until after about a half hour journey you come to a ragged pool cut in deep in the rocks...filled with people. They come because the rock ledges provide a perfect place to watch the rope swing that's tied to a tree that leans far over the water above the deep spot carved by the waterfall.
Those who would swing make the precarious climb via thick tree roots and rocky handholds to the perch about 15 feet above the icy water. When they get their nerve up they swing far out, and let go, and endure the sudden frozen splash when they hit and plunge deep below, then swim for the rock ledges to climb out and warm up.
Last time I was there every swing ended in two splashes: one for the swimmer, and one for this big mutt of a dog who would wake suddenly from his snooze every time he heard a splash - jump up and dive in to the rescue! He'd swim back a bedraggled mess, and resume his snooze until the next splash jerked him back into action. This went on all day...

Raccoons? But they're not indigenous.

And they are thieves, they even have bandit masks permanently on.

Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
Good point. Can we be sure though that it isn't the other way around and the thiefs aren't actually all raccoons?

Yes but I doubt you'd be competing for the dregs at the bottom of bottles!
