I dont remember ever stating love for Clara She is in fact my third favourite nuwho companion after Donna and Amy.
But she did go up quite a bit in my estimations during series 8.

But I do think you view the episode through a preconceived prism of dislike- I reckon if RTD had never existed and Moffat had wrote Rose, exactly as she was, you would still be making largely the same accusations about how Rose has to fall in love with him, how its creepy the way she treats others out of jealousy of her Doctor, and even creepier the Doctor returns that love, how he has to make her so important than only she can save ever universe ever anywhere ect ect.

the basic premise of Clara is unhealthy and creepy, whereas Rose is healthy and normal.

You are wrong, Petty. I didn't give a damn who writes, a good episode was a good episode and still is. By your logic I hate Blink and adoooore Martha's copycat lovestory and her turning into GI Jane.

Okay, here is the easy way to solve this. If somethings bad, it doesn't mean something else is good. And vice cersa.

And really, if we want to lower the acrimony of the debate, let's just stop with the comparisons, eh? Discuss things on their own merit?

Yup, a classic story indeed And Romanna in a Gallifryean Academy school uniform- nothing suspiciously 70's BBC about that at all!

I like how the Doctor calls 1979 a table wine as far as good years to visit go.

Its full of great one liners, as you'd expect from Adams.

My fav from it is probably "What a wonderful butler, he's so violent."

But the Cleese moment is worth a mention-

"You're a beautiful woman.. probably."

Yeah, Douglas is great. Shame he didn't write more Who. Shada.

If youve never read Dirk Gently's Holistic detective Agency then give it a go- its basically the plot of Shada mixed with the plot of City of Death without the Doctor in it! The cheeky bastard.

Who stuff-

The new block of shooting has got under-way and all seems to be going well and on schedule.
Rebecca Front has been announced as a guest star in one of the new block of episodes. She was the Minister in series 3 and 4 of the Thick of It so has worked with Capaldi before.
It makes her the second actor from The Thick of It to appear in Capaldi era Who after Chris Addison last series.

Hints that we may not be done yet with River Song-

'When asked for a comment at Mega-Con, Kingston responded with “all I can say is… spoilers! But what I will say is the sonic screwdriver that I had in Silence In The Library, which had been given to me by the Doctor, is not the sonic screwdriver that has been seen… yet.”- Den of Geek

On the same subject Moffat has said-

So there you have it, if RTD were back in charge we'd be watching a 12/River 'sex storm' by now!
