I woke up this morning to what sounded like somebody ransacking my house. It turned out a chipmunk had gotten inside somehow, and my cat was chasing him everywhere including the bookshelves! 
He's quite athletic and when he's on a mission he doesn't care what he destroys.
He finally proudly brought the poor stunned chipmunk to me. I praised him mightily (what else can you do?) and put the poor creature outside. I don't know if he'll make it, but I put him in a safe place to sleep it off, and he was gone when I checked a few minutes later....
But my cat is still strutting and purring like a conquering hero!

Having never seen a live chipmunk I have instead in my head a classic era Disney one (the sort that used to love annoying Donald Duck)- its perfect imagary for your story David. _________________

I'm glad the chipmunk made it. My cat brings in birds and baby rabbits from the back yard from time to time but we do our best to return them outside and then keep the cat indoors for a while. He likes to "play" with them so he's usually mad when they're taken away from him.

my cats eat lizards then vomit them on the floor, I keep finding glistening little piles of vomit with the odd leg and tail sticking out. and sometimes a head.

cats seem to like a good vomit, and the concept of chewing before swallowing seems quie alien to them.

A fairy godmother decides to grant three wishes to a little old lady.
"What would you like for your first wish?" the fairy godmother asks.

The young woman's cat, Burt, jumps into her lap.

That's really awesome. 
I tried to train my cat to hunt using wind-up lego cars but I'm not sure how much of it took and how much was just instinct.
