I mean seriously though, there is a very wide spectrum of activity that can be described as "trolling". If you're just trying to piss people off or make them shocked and offended, then I really don't think that's particularly remarkable or worth psychoanalyzing. If you're harassing people or sending them death threats, then that's obviously wrong and measures should be taken to strongly discourage it. There's varying degrees in between but a statement like "trolls and sociopaths take pleasure at the distress of others" seems incredibly disingenuous to me since schadenfreude to a greater or lesser degree is a pretty damn common emotion.
