Re: Just...................whatever [2]
Wow it is amazing the amount of comments, so diversified, so intense.
I was talking about two things, I was tired, we just rushed Desi to hospital. She called from work and I went and stayed with her while she closed up and then Travis and I went there with her. I cried for her, poor Travis, he had to get so many tissues and I had to use so much hand sanitizer . And I cried for most of the people in the triage. So I was a little out of it.
Petty, Hasia wants you to know she did very well on her sh's and her r's in her speech therapy. Oh and I took your advice on talk therapy instead of having her go to the psychiatrist. But she does have to go to anger management so she can deal properly with her grief over Desi.
It looks like the Misty Mountains here just now. A deep dark mist over all the Valley and we are surrounded on all sides by lakes and small mountains, except Silver Star which is very high. We even have a Swan Lake. All is quiet and gloomy. I watched the hobbit on cd which Travis bought me again and honestly I could do without orcs and those wargy things. ! On such a day, I would rather think on Elrond or Galadriel or whatever.
I don't know why she did that to the tree, I think she must have been high already, it says she wanted more light to see what was happening. AFter watching the Ents I can hear it cry and the alarm of all other trees, watching helplessly as it burnt. I hope the lady gets help. Maybe work in the Forestry for community service, help plant trees. You can get that kind of community service here.

#that moment when it's kind of romantic to take a shit because the lights are out in the bathroom and you have to light candles.
Re: Just...................whatever [2]
sorry Eldo it was a Dr Who reference, the Shakri think humans are a plague that needs extermination before they destroy the Universe, and after seeing what humans have done to the Earth I kind of think they have a point. whether its a tree thats burnt down or a bird of paradise in the Amazon that is slowly made extinct, or an ancient Buddha blown up by the Taliban, I sometimes hate our species
I am also with Treebeard on this one.

You seem to be under the impression that (1) I care about alcohol, and (2) that the law stops any American teenager who wants to drink from doing so.

You give her a big hug leelee and let her know we are rooting for her and all immensly proud of her.
On the tree thing- for me life is life- it just comes in a lot of different shapes but no one type is better or important or more significat than the other.
In that regard I view humans the same as a tree, or plant or a fly.
Unfortuntley for reasons as yet unknown we live in a universe where in order to continue living you have to kill and consume the energy of other living things- whether thats animal or plant- thems just the rules.
But for me there is a difference between what you have to consume to live and downgrading or degragadnig other forms of life just to make outrslves feel better about killing and eating it.
An idea of life with humans at the apex and everything else somehow 'beneath' us seems like an unfortunate Christian legacy to me, one that leads us to have far too little regard for the life on our planet resulting in its current poorly maintained state.
ps drunk Norc- Ah to be 18 again and still have a functioning liver!

I've had champagne and it's not all that. Better than tequila though, that shit is nasty.

martini is good though.
Re: Just...................whatever [2]
I don't really remember what those taste like, but I've been unimpressed by most alcoholic beverages I've tried. There are a few microbrews that are good -- certainly more interesting than most beer -- but nothing that I'd go out of my way for.
And in case any of you were wondering, I've drank all of those legally. And without even leaving the country.

Re: Just...................whatever [2]
alcohol doesnt really interest me, its ok on a hot day, but I only like common stuff like lager and lime I dont have sophisticated taste buds. wine is a huge deal here but I prefer the smell of it to the actual taste. I also dont like feeling woozy and sleepy I like having razer sharp reflexes to ward off the garden gnomes.

If I only drank on that basis I would be sober waiting on a hot day!
And besides only amatuers get woozy and have slow refelxes, once you've taken the plunge into full on alcoholism noone even knows your drunk.

Norc wrote:then it's not legal.
In Maryland (and about 28 other states) it's legal to drink alcohol on private property if your parents are present and okay with it, regardless of age. My parents happened to be fine with me trying alcohol even before I was 18. So suck it.

yup specially after that episode with the Naturists and the rolling drunk under the table scandal.
ok ok I'll tell you what really happened. Petty went to that hotel in the hopes of ogling some nice naked lady but he fell asleep under their dining table, he woke up and instead of a nice naked lady there was a nice naked builder called Hamish, but Petty was too drunk to care.. and well things that shouldnt have been tugged were tugged....
