i found 10pm+ is the best time

but if you're seeing a family film they're all on early and kids can be annoying lol

When I'm going on my own I like to go in the evening because (1) I like seeing the giant lights as I drive up to the theatre and (2) it's more crowded and I actually kinda like the social aspect of theatregoing. I don't normally like crowds but since everyone is sitting and watching the screen I can handle it at the movies. I don't like to be out and about too late though, so TBH I rarely go to a movie that starts later than 8 or 9 PM.

The rest of my family aren't too interested in movies and like to go during the day when it's less crowded, so we usually go in the late morning or early afternoon if it's as a group. I always feel like it's later than it really is when I'm in the theatre though and get blinded by the light when I go outside.

I think the last family film I saw in a theatre was Kung Fu Panda 2 and that was in the morning. There were literally kids running up and down the aisles cause they were bored. I was too but I stayed in my seat.

yeah that's pretty much every kid film I've seen


but beside from the practical reasons (night shifts) i find generally the audience is much more apprieative of film in general the later you go

That's a cool idea, I wonder if any of the theatres in my area do it. There are a few arthouse-y theatres in the city that I like to go to from time to time.

I actually hadn't been to the theatre in something like four months before today. There are a bunch of reasons for that but I'd love to start going more often again. There are a lot of smaller films coming out in the next few months that intrigue me in addition to the lineup of summer blockbusters (which I have nothing against).
