I heard a rumor that one will hit sometime this month (May), but I don't know if that's true. Six or seven months out is about when you'd expect to start seeing trailers (if not earlier), though.

i want the trailer. like. now. but no smaug. not his voice.. maybe just the silhouette.

Bundersnatch would be in Slytherin and Martin would be in Gryffindor. Bunders is brilliant and mercurial with a dark edge, and Martin is loyal and brave with a funny twist.

yes, gryffindor, but i think Sherlock would be in Ravenclaw. i mean, he's not after fame, but he wants knowledge and he's a show of, wants to prove how clever he is, bit not make a good position or be like idk, noted. Mycroft i think would be in Slytherin, he has a much darker and colder side than Sherlock.

Exclusive: First Trailer From The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug Will Be Attached To Man Of Steel

If you’re looking for one more reason to go see Man Of Steel next week, I’m sure you’re already going anyway, well I’m here to tell you that you’ll get your first look at The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug trailer very soon as Warner is looking to attach the first trailer from the movie to the biggest movie of the year. The first trailer from The Desolation Of Smaug, will be be attached to all of Man Of Steel prints. And it’s not a teaser trailer, but it’s a full 2 min 30 sec theatrical trailer. The trailer is set to debut online on June 12, 10 am PDT. So check back here to have a look at it.

We’ve been waiting and waiting for some official word on the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Rumours have persistently indicated it would debut on around June 14, potentially attached to Man of Steel.

Now, finally, the British Board of Film Classification has given its stamp of approval for the next Hobbit trailer.

Rated 12A, just like the second trailer for An Unexpected Journey, the trailer will clock in at two minutes and one second. That’s some 25 seconds shorter than the trailers for An Unexpected Journey, but still quite substantial.

The timing also seems a very strong (although still not absolutely, 100% conclusive) indication that the trailer will be attached to Man of Steel.

But what will we see? TORn Staffer Justin points out that when we polled fans before An Unexpected Journey, there was a definite desire to not have Smaug revealed in the trailer. Now the majority seem to want a bigger glimpse.

But what else might we see though? Beorn? Thranduil’s mountain kingdom underground halls? (nb: edited for clarity.) Esgaroth and the Master? Now the guessing game begins.

I want a glimpse of Tauriel and the Woodland Sweeties doing the Can-Can. That was the best part of the book IMHO.

I still think the giant statues look dumb, like something out of World of Warcraft. Other than that the new poster is boss.

I'm looking forward to the new trailer. We should have another thread for it like the AUJ ones. Anyone want to make it in a day or two?

I meant a new thread specifically for the trailer, made when it actually comes out. Like we did for the two AUJ trailers. One of the reasons it's good is so that people who haven't seen the trailer yet don't get the whole thing spoiled for them in another thread if they don't want that. Also, not everyone checks the continuously updated megathreads, so new ones attract more eyes.

That is disturbing, consider me disturbed.

I don't think people are concerned about having a trailer spoiled for them. This or the spoiler smaug thread is fine. In fact I think having two threads is already too much.

I know some people would rather see the trailer for themselves before, say, seeing dozens of screenshots.

I do agree that we have too many Hobbit threads, but one-off threads for special events like the release of a trailer I'm okay with. Largely because a lot of people don't closely follow the super-long ones that go on for months.
