help me out.
I need to know how to make food.. without food... I have some pasta.. and tomato sauce.. I also have fish in tomato sauce, but no bread or meat.. also, no eggs.. nothing... please. help. I am starving.
Re: help me out.
What Eldo said. If not so starving, you can cook the pasta about 2/3 of the way, then mix with sauce and bake for some different texture. Perhaps brown some of the non-fish sauce first (in oil) to add extra complexity before adding in the rest. If you have any herbs or spices also cook in oil for about 30 seconds or so before adding in rest of sauce.

Everything tastes good if you only add enough spices

Depending on the quality of the tomato sauce, cooking some herbs in oil before you heat up the sauce can make a huge difference. Garlic and fresh small leaf herbs such as rosemary and thyme should be sauted before sauce, as should any dried herbs. Leafy herbs such as parsley and basil should receive at most a quick stir in oil or even added right at the end of heating.

Re: help me out.
all that sounds good and all, but tomato sauce without MEAT!? no food in that.. also last time I cooked it looked like that swedish chef from the muppets had been around..
Re: help me out.
I thought there was fish in the sauce. Don't all good Fyordlandians consider fish to be a respectable meal?
Somehow the images of your cooking habits don't surprise me....

I'm not exactly a master chef myself but it's pretty easy to just heat up sauce. I do prefer sauce with meat in it but it's definitely not unheard of to have plain tomato sauce with pasta here. Maybe it's different in Norway?
If you have fish and it's not in the sauce though, you could just cook that and then cut it up and eat it with the pasta.

Re: help me out.
Just throw it all in a pot, cook to mush, pass through the blender and gulp it down like a hot milkshake. Same nutritional value and much less technique.

yeah, it was, but it was a small box, meant to be put on a slice of bread, I ate it out of the can.
Re: help me out.
It's been almost two hours. Have you eaten anything yet, Norc?

naah, that's just me I want meat balls or something. Doesn't really feel like a meal without meat.
fried salmon with green spinache pasta, then put in the oven with cream and loads of stuff... yumm..
but I am saved, dad came home with grilled chicken!
Re: help me out.
Pasta with meat balls is the food of the gods.
I'm glad you were saved from your hunger, though.
