does my partner really care?

hi all, I have a problem with my other half, and this site, i come on this site all the time for the info on The Hobbit, and the humour that is uploaded also. i love the LOTR films, and i watch them very often, my partner also loves these films so i felt this could be something we could both enjoy. but unfortunately it has turned against me. i am very hooked on this, but do find myself on here more than with my OH. he doesnt show me any affection, he keeps to himself and has no interest in what i am interested in, i really dont know what to do,am i wrong for staying on here as often as i do?
please help my Hobbit friends.

Have you tried Buckie? Lots and lots of buckie? It wont help but you will be so oblivious to the problems it will all have fallen apart before you sober up.

well... if you've only made two posts, than dear you, you don't have problem.. (i do..) but, you could argue that this is like reading the newspaper for you. and decide before hand how much time you want to spend here. and maybe try not to sit on the computer while ur partner is present.

try to bring it up and come to an arrangement, you both try to look into what the other is interested in. idk... most of my friends aren't as stoked on the hobbit as i am.

4 posts so far ain't nothing. Whole careers have been wasted here, families sundered, etc etc. Asking us for forumshire relationship problems is like asking drug addicts to cure you of your crack habit.

And Norc can tell you what our relationship advice is: as a fully fledged male I will certify that we are all dumbasses. The men to worry about are the ones who don't realize they are dumbasses. He may not even realize he's being unresponsive. So come on so strong even a doorknob can see what you're about, and if that doesn't work then it's time to ditch him 'cause he's truly not interested rather than simply oblivious. End of story, move on.

Relationship advice? from us? disfunctional Hobbit sniffers? you must be kidding. Drunken Scotshobbits, farmers with rude veggie fetishes, a hairy creature from the bowels of Manhatten, swearing pixies from Ffyordlandia, Essex Alien from the Planet Zargon Bleep, and thats just the sane ones. Talk about Last Place On Earth to ask for help.

That's probably the best nutshell description of forumshire we'll see anywhere. And you still make us sound lovable.

I don't know how much time exactly you spend on the Internet (assuming this is a serious question) but from the sounds of it you should spend more time with your partner in real life.

What kind of advice is that Eldo? Sensible advice thats what. And who comes to Fourmshire for sensible advice?!

are you interested in any of his hobbies apart from LOTR? Do something with them. it could be that while he likes the films he doesn't want to discuss it in extreme detail so he feels he doesn't want to spoil the party so to speak. so go out and do something if you want to, even if you can't get him to come along, it could stimulate conversations with your husband. talk to your friends for a fresh perspective that can really really help. The issue could really be anything but just keep talking to him- and don't spend too much time online

My buckie solution is much simpler.

If you count putting off thinking about a solution a solution

it works for me. I generally leave decades before I decide solutions.

The key is to get more buckie in as soon as you think you might be becoming sober enough to remember why you are getting drunk in the first place.

Noone should turn to the bottle Carly- quite right- one should embrace it! Preferably with a straw.

i thought only women drink with a straw

It increases the drunk potential of a drink- and you can get four or five in your gob at once and be drinking from 5 seperate barrels at the same time - wonderful invention the straw.

You don't see many men drinking through straws here in Harlem but I guess thats because they've all left for the lights
