Re: Best 50 moments
There were some nice moments on that list but there were also a lot of really cheesy moments (Dwarf tossing and Legolas vs. the Oliphaunt? Really?). On the other hand, I'm not sure just how many moments from LOTR they really had to choose from. Sure, they're three very long films, but to get a list of 50 you're going to have to stretch it a bit. Not surprising then that they include things like the end credits and the trailer for The Hobbit on their LOTR list.
Re: Best 50 moments
I think they took pretty much every wow-moment maybe we could see if we can find a moment that wasn't mentioned? that was great?
Re: Best 50 moments
Some good scenes mentioned there, but way too far down the list.
Number 9: Lurtz
The Awesome: Aragorn might turn him over eventually, but Lurtz is quite the warrior. Special mention must go to the deleted scene in which he licks his own blood off Aragorn’s knife

This reminds me, we should bring back the "Golden moments" threads! I always loved those threads, and with so many new members and a year or two passed we should see many new and refreshing golden moments. Anyone else in favour?

Back on the old forum we had a thread called "Golden moments" and another one called "Golden moments overlooked for in the films". People posted their favourite scenes from the films in the first and what moments/scenes that weren't in the films but should have been in the second. Being one who love both the books and the films I liked those threads a lot

Re: Best 50 moments
I'd love to see one of those again if you want to start it up, Ringdrotten!
If anyone wants to see the old threads they're in the archives. There was Golden Moments and Golden LotR Moments overlooked for the movies.

Re: Best 50 moments
I think we need to compromise as there are both Tolkien fans (The Pure) and PJ fans (The Impure) resident in Forumshire. Why not have a best 50 PJ moments and a 50 Tolkien moments?
(NB That is, if we can find enough Tolkien moments in the movies to have 50 Tolkien moments. ).

Re: Best 50 moments
Is it weird that I loved the credits of ROTK? It's actually one of my favorite parts of the film

Re: Best 50 moments
While I think the list was stretching by including them, I also enjoyed the ending credits for ROTK, they gave a very nice sense of finality to the entire thing. I'll specify that I really enjoyed the Extended Edition ending credits for ROTK, since they included Christopher Lee, Brad Dourif, and Sean Bean. Those three played major roles in the trilogy but had only minor appearances in ROTK-EE and were left out of the theatrical cut entirely. I understand how this meant they were not included in the credits to ROTK-Theatrical but that ruins part of the whole-trilogy-concluding feeling of the picture credits for me.
Re: Best 50 moments
I think the best PJ film moments and best Tolkien book moments would be a great thread.... I am new so not had a chance to influence the old debate much... we need 2 new threads!!
Re: Best 50 moments
then make one but I belive there already is one or two other threads, discussion the best LOTR moments (book and movie).
Re: Best 50 moments
Yeah the best movie moments thread is really short......

Definitely could have been better, especially had it been a list from the books.
