and in other news we are getting a five part one-off spin-off featuring Unit and the Sea Devils called The War Between The Land and the Sea. Here's hoping this is a better return of the sea devils than we got with Jodies Doctor, as it was not only one of the worst episodes in an already bad run of worst episodes, but was also on a technical level a complete and utter mess of direction, editing and sfx.

edit add- I am even less positive about this spin off than I was on originally hearing about it now I know who is writing it, it's cowritten by RTD and Pete McTighe. If that second name doesn't ring a bell he was one of the writers brought in by Chibnal during the Jodie era, he gave us Kerblaam, where the Doctor sides with a murderous exploitive massive multi-planetary Amazon against its workers, and then she murders someone for a finale, and Orphan 52, generally considered not only the worst episode of this era by many, but one of the worst episodes of any show ever made, if made is even the word for it as like the Sea Devils special it suffers from some of the most embarrassing direction and editing you are ever likely to see in a major production. So hopes are not high here for this 5 part special, mind you to be better than expected the bar is currently very, very low indeed in Who unfortunately. }}
