That episode also featured the Meddling Monk, and if you've heard the Lucie Miller stories you'll know he has a history with the 8th Doctor...

Doom Coalition 4 was really good, though the ending cliffhanger was an annoying tease.

'Ship in a bottle' was perhaps the stand out of the set, a simple three hander character piece that conjured up some stunning imagery, definitely not the type of Who story you could do on TV, McGann was on particularly fine form capturing something of the weary pessimistic defeatism shown in 'Night Of The Doctor'.

On the subject of Big Finish, apparently they had planned (and possibly finished writing) another 4 War Doctor boxsets, with the first ready to record early this year, cancelled at a late stage due to Hurt's illness, sad to think that a potentially long running series was cut short by Hurt's sad passing, though the 12 episodes he did record will be a fine testament to his Doctor and talents as an actor.

Makes you wonder if they will tweak these scripts into Companion chronicles style auiodbook releases or short stories, or maybe even rework them for the 8th Doctor (there is an 8th Doctor Time War boxset coming out later this year, it was apparently intended as a one off special release, but Nick Briggs has implied that since Hurt's passing their plans R.E time war have changed...).

Not sure at this stage if I actually want more War Doctor stories or not...

Which episode were they in? I've only just started the 5th doctor stories from Classic Who and can't recall their importance?

{{ They are the originals as faced by the first Doctor in The Tenth Planet, the debut Cyberman story. Mondas was an earth twin in our solar system that due to a huge disaster got thrown out of our solar system. It developed more rapidly but huge societal collapse led to the whole cyber thing. }}}

{{They seem to have made them much as they were in Hartnells day. The main difference between they have reduced the size and bulk of all the stuff stuck to them. apart from that much the same though. }}

Hope the Mondasian cybermen are used in creepy fashion- something NuWho lost with their big bulky stompy metallic Cybermen was that originally they were presented in very creepy manner}}

Going back to Big Finish, I hear their Cyberman origin story 'Spare Parts' (a 5th Doctor story) is very much worth a listen...

The black and white certainly makes everything look creepier.

'Phoebe Waller-Bridge has emerged as the bookies’ latest actor to take the role of the 13th Doctor.

The Fleabag star has rapidly risen to favourite this week. She now rivals Kris Marshall who maintained weeks at the top.

Waller-Bridge previously worked with incoming Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall on Series 2 of Broadchurch, playing Abby.

Betway said: “Phoebe Waller-Bridge is all the rage with the punters at the moment. Her odds of being the next Doctor Who have collapsed from 20/1 to 2/1 since Monday morning and we’re on red alert, keeping an eye out for any more telling bets.

I dont know her work at all but then I didn't know Matt Smith's either and he was excellent.    
I think I would prefer her over Kris Marshall for no other reason than he seems a bit too much like more of what we have already seen.

In other Who news Rachel Talalay is back on directing duties for the series 10 finale }}

I like the look in her eyes. A bit of world-weary wisdom.

Completely on board with a female Doctor-assuming the actress is right for the part and wasn't cast soley to tick a box or give the writers an excuse to burden the show with unnecessary gender politics.

Not familiar with Waller-Bridges work but I like her look.

As long as the next Doctor isn't stunt casting or a David Tennant clone then I'll be happy with most choices.
