It sounds so weird. What do Americans say for 'herb'? 'Erb'?
Anyone know why? Of all the changes between UK and US English this one always strikes me as weird.
A lot of words that have French origins do that in American English, like honour, honesty, and hors d'oeuvres.
I suspect it was something that was decided on and drilled into students in the late 19th and early 20th century when we were trying to standardize rules for a nation of immigrants. Still you do hear Herb, Herbal, Herbalist etc with the H pronounced fairly frequently, at least around here, and only grandmothers and teachers bother to correct you.
Ah yes, the dratted French. I grew up mainly pronouncing herbs as spelled. Doesn't work with most french words, if any.

Re: Just...................whatever [5]
"arbutration court", voldgiftsdomstol. "referendums", valg. "stipulates", stipulerer. "prerogative", preogativ.

Yeah, most advice is probably pretty useless on the whole. I'm glad though, that, while you obviously are completely swamped, you're not at the point of giving up completely. I don't know. Certainly you can come on here vent. I think we all care that you're happy and obviously we'll all hear you out if there's anything.. at all, really. It just seemed a bit more serious this time. So, I guess I felt I should say something. I'm really glad to hear you are dealing with it though. However much of a chore that is.
And i guess I felt your words a rather strongly as they were rather descriptive of how I'm feeling too. I too am completely overworked, and overtired, (what wouldn't I give for a good nights sleep) and while I do try to work a little on my studies every day, I get nowhere close to getting the stuff I should done. That, and I seem to spend most of my time working on stuff that aren't exam related (student paper thing). It's hopeless really. But you have to keep trying, I guess.

The worst thing is, it probably isn't.. very helpful, you know. Because if you are talking international law, arbitration court could very well mean something else. Like it could relate to a treaty body or something, perhaps? (Give me the exact example and I'll tell you though.)

Yeah, I get that it can feel like that. Although, I tend to find the people who agonize the most over things often do a lot better than they think. Myself included.
Anyway, I'm not going to nag you any more about it. You're done. How great isn't that? Now, go enjoy your weekend.

Hey, I'm not ignoring you. I'm just *idly scrolls smart phone screen* looking up the price for a new way to ignore you online.
