Re: Just...................whatever [5]
I hope you enjoy your tablet, bungo.
I'm curious what exactly you mean there, halfy. I've been on Android for like six years, and before that was still using a dumbphone, so I can't really make comparisons with the iPhone. But I do still have trouble imagining using a tablet for, say, posting on forums, based on my experience with them at work and my (fairly frequent) use of my phone for making posts.

Re: Just...................whatever [5]
I don't know if you guys have heard about this, but JK Rowling mused that she'd be all down for a Dumbledore Gandalf Wedding and the Westboro Baptist Church protested it. So, to protest them in return, they held a fake wedding for Gandalf and Dumbledore!

I love that Planting Peace bought a house right across from Westboro Baptist Church and painted it rainbow! That's like a middle finger right in the church's face...beautiful.
The money could arguably have gone for better support of their core mission, but it's hard to fault them for such a sweet maneuver.

I assume that's related to the damn computers post:
Yep, an iphone is not a computer the way an android is.
If you get an iphone, you can only do a very few things with it out of the box: make phone calls, send messages, etc.
if you want to write yourself a note, you need to get an app.
If you want to copy from one message to another, it used to be you had to get an app.
If you wanted to store linked photos to a folder of your own choosing, you have to get an app.
Basically, anything an operating system would do is closed to you. An iphone ain't a computer. An android is. The ipad uses the same 'operating system' as the iphone, but they had to add enough built-in apps you wouldn't notice. Until you try to do something you think you should be able to, but can't.

Re: Just...................whatever [5]
Wow, I have no idea how I managed to make that post in here. Thanks for the elaboration, Halfy.
Re: Just...................whatever [5]
I am liking it so far. I especially like typing with Swype. Can't do that on an iPad.
But when I go back to writing my story I'll probably switch back to my computer. I don't have a problem posting here from my phone, and I imagine the tablet is probably similar.

From what I can make out it says:
WARNING
MASTURBATORS
THIEVES
DRUNKARDS
HOMOSEXUALS
JUDGMENT DAY
So this kid just let a real life troll get the best of him. Best to just ignore street preachers, even if you are just bored on a college campus. It's always easier to find something better to do than get mad. Plus nothing makes these people feel worse than out right ignoring them.

Re: Just...................whatever [5]
Yeah I haven't even bothered looking inside those, and I'm even more glad now that I haven't.
Re: Just...................whatever [5]
Something offensive I guess, but in all honesty I don't think there is anything that sign could've said that would justify that kid's reaction. The whole thing seemed like it was something out of a comedy sketch. I guess the part where the kid screams that the sign is offensive and provokes assault as a sort of justification (if one can call it that) that gets me. I may be annoyed by street protesters but like the Voltaire saying goes; the man does have a right to his free speech.halfwise wrote:?? But what did the sign say?
