The problem is, I no longer trust you people to know what to do with an 'i'.
Vikings should vike, not veek. Latin countries might veek with an 'i', but you lot are supposed to be nordic. One might expect proper decorum when confronted with a vowal.

You are taking this very hard. I am guessing this is not a good time to bring up the word "fjord"...

FfJoreD.
Nailed it!
I'm trying to learn Norwegian actually. Why can't you guys use more English words! It makes it much easier when cats are katter and dogs are hunder! But no, you have to go and name turtles skilpadder like they're some kind of paddling shield!
(which is rather adorable actually)
Anyway, jeg liker dere!
Jeg snakker noen Norsk.
I don't know what I'm doing.

How the hell are we supposed to be afraid of a pack of veekings?

Why are you trying to learn Norwegian, Forrest? Are you planning to hang out with the Veekings?

Feel with you, Forest. Trying to gain at least a rudimentary grasp of spanish myself. (And with it being an easy language comparatively, as far as I have heard.)

Just stick with the simple tenses and Spanish ain't half bad. It's the past-pluperfect (whatever the fuck that means) type of shit that will get you down.

Re: Fjordlandia Viking bar & kaffistove, main str. 221B, Needlehole [3]
norwegian is super easy. the spelling doesn't always make sense, but that goes for french too. the grammar on the other hand is really easy actually, not at all like german for example. there are mostly rules, but many exceptions without a real reasonable reason behind it. lots of germanic loans, so if you know some german, learning norwegian is easier. the hardest part i think is learning to speak it and comprehend the different dialekts and how to pronounce words. good luck
Re: Fjordlandia Viking bar & kaffistove, main str. 221B, Needlehole [3]
Thanks!
I was relieved when I learned that in Norwegian you don't use different verb conjugations relative to subject. That is to say, in Norwegian, "we are", "he are", "they are", I are". It's pretty great.
French verb conjugations never sat well with me. Not well at all...
I don't know much German, but I've found my knowledge of English to be quite useful so far.
Have you been down to Spain, Blue?
So I guess you're learning Spanish Spanish, so to speak, and not New-world Spanish... so to speak.

Si, castellano.
Although, I am reliably informed that Duolingo, a good app for getting started with a language, by the way, has been teaching me Mexican.
¡Mucho gusto!

It's feeling pretty strange to be back in Norway, having been away for six weeks. (Heck, I haven't worn anything but shorts for five. ) Everything here is wet and cold, and scarily expensive. And Norwegians are definitely... very Norwegian.
I guess I'm getting part of the experience a foreigner gets visiting Norway for the first time. Which is.. kind of special, I guess. I've certainly known a lot of exchange students. I guess I'm finally getting part of the exchange student experience.

You think you have a disaster of a government? Believe me, it can get worse.

Well, you can drown your sorrows by posting about more cheerful things, like your trip to Spain.
