You have to have the 'feel' first, I should imagine it just flows thru this chap right down to his finger tips.
And I do like that chair Dave !

Some of his furniture can have a dark side too. I've sat in this chair. It's made from a large maple burl and ancient spruce knots. It's quite comfortable but somehow feels...not evil exactly.... Maybe sinister is the word?

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Beautiful Az!
When I see webs like that, it reminds me that many of the Native Peoples have stories of Old Spider Woman who taught the first people to make nets and weave cloth and baskets. I can imagine an old Neanderthal woman half a million years ago looking at just such a web and thinking, "Oooooh! I could catch birds and bunnies a fishes with one of those, just like sister spider! "

Re: Tales of Home [5]
You're quite romantic in a spiritual kinda way I appreciate all the hard work that spidy does in making these things. Some are beautiful, especially if they catch the dew drops from early morning. I actually feel sorry for the spider if his web gets ruined & he has to do it all again !

Norc sent me this today http://atchuup.com/marines-messing-with-kids/
No idea if it's real or not, but it was a fun read all the same, and this supposedly happened not far from where I live

Great story! I'll say it definitely has the ring of Truth from an American perspective.
If the Fjordlanders can confirm that filling the enemy's snowsuit with snow is within the normal rules of engagement, I think we can be fairly confident this happened pretty much as written.
Hi Norc!

Indeed, Petty! They are everywhere
As to Norc's whereabouts - she seemed to have a lot going on, so she didn't have time to pop in today. No worries, though, I'm sure she'll be back and lighten things up soon enough

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Hi guys lot going on, i'm moving and arranging parties
I think the story is pretty legit, those small bastards are pretty good with snowballs. We used to have Sara going on between the 7th graders and the 4th graders ... Put snowballs in the river to make then more icy... Also his rocks in them great times...

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Thats not as easy as you think ! The town is full of numpty's ! The Red Arrows were outstanding. I think we take them for granted but, what they do is impressive & I think they are pretty brave.

Re: Tales of Home [5]
because my mom filmed it and did something i didn't think was possible on an iphone, film everything vertically.... *facepalm* but also it's kinda shitty quality though...
Re: Tales of Home [5]
and also i can't be bothered...
i did promise (at least Eldo here) that i'd write an essay on why LOTR is a modernistic novel, which i intend to do... some time soon, dunno when as i am way to busy packing and moving south for violin-school-thing, but it's on my list
