Wow, spectacular.     This was the sky here yesterday, from the staff canteen at the Opera House of all places.

hehe  cool  we had those around the moon this winter  though it's not cold enough in the air just now to make it ;D although it snowed in the moutains aka. around 1000 meter above sea level.

Those pics are gorgeous, the sea looks so inviting, Id miss beachcombing I think tho ? Sand here is so rare we may have to open a museum dedicated to it, study it at some secret university. Its also the smells I love. This is London we are talking about norclet... you don't ask people for things like that. You don't ask them for anything unless that is their job to answer.

And that is why London has a reputation as the most unfriendly city in the UK.   

i'd be really pissed off if someone just took a picture of me without me knowing only because of my religin and the way i dressed. there is something called respect for one another.

I didn't do it to take the piss... I did it because it was different. The newspapers do it all the time and do it to sell papers. I did it because it was unusual but also because it visually showed some of the diversity that I normally hear.

yeah, but at least let him know. i feel uncomfortable just watching a picture i just took of someone.

Twelve monks were about to be ordained. The final test was for them to line up nude in a garden while a nude model danced before them. Each monk had a small bell attached to his privates and they were told that anyone whose bell rang would not be ordained because he had not reached a state of purity.

The model danced before the first monk candidate with no reaction. She proceeded down the line with the same response until she got to the final monk. As she danced, his bell rang so loudly that it fell off and clattered to the ground. Embarrassed, he bent down to pick up the bell, and all the other bells went off.

Norc/Lance- Calm down there folks- we have a cultural thingimibob going on here, or at the least a small town, small country big city, bigger country comparison.

I wouldn't have asked his permission first if it had been me on a London tube- you just dont- it would get a weird, and potentially negative reaction from my limited experience of London. And not from the monk necessarily but other passengers.

Yet in my own small town I wouldn't think of taking a photo of someone without asking- its just differences  in setting and local culture, certainly not worth getting angry with each other about. (And that last bit is said with my mod hat on!)

It's a fjordian thing, I think. It would be unheard of to take a photo of somebody here without asking permission first, it's an unwritten rule, and if this is normal in London I guess petty's theory is well-founded.

I only ask first if its a special "do", In my little town people aren't fussed. They usually carry on as normal, the only "no-no" is if its photo'ing kids, goes without saying. On holiday I was happily snapping all the dishy men ! Oh yeah !! & the cheeky blighters loved it !
