So though we've often been amazed at Google Street view, I've always felt somewhat removed from it by living 7 floors above the streets.

But now I realize that when you turn on the flyover 3D feature in the iphone, if you live in a super exposed city like I do, anyone can come within about 1 zoom factor shy of looking in my apartment windows!  Shocked  You can fly around my damn building like superman, it's uncanny. Hmm..I got a sharing app, wonder if I can share pictures...

Okay, here's looking at the front of my apartment: it's the thing to the left with the blue ball over it (not centered because I wanted to include the small park).

Tales of Home [5] - Page 15 Frontd10

Now I use my fingers to fly around the thing like a damn drone, and I can see my windows at the back (yellowish wall).  Top floor, count to the 5th window from the left and that's where I'm sitting, the next small window is the bathroom, then the large living room, then the kitchen.  The blue ball isn't over this building because of the angle.  it looks rippled because of the infamous apple map image morphing that made bridges look melted, but now only makes things look a little off.

Tales of Home [5] - Page 15 Backwi10

Then for shits and giggles I flew over to college campus up the street where I work, circled around the main building and took a shot:

Tales of Home [5] - Page 15 Shephe10

Here's the best I can do in google earth of my apartment, doesn't even come close:

Tales of Home [5] - Page 15 Google10

I kind of played around with this a bit before, but the shock didn't hit me until flying around my own place like Underdog.

If you want to be spiderman then you want to be swinging through mid town, maybe towards Central Park like this:

Tales of Home [5] - Page 15 Spidym10

this is fun. give me some other New York landmark you want to fly through...

Hello good people of forumshire! I've missed most of you. It's been quite a while since I've been around, hope you all are well. It's my intention to catch up on some of what I've missed, but it's been so long that I may just pick up in the middle so to speak.

Great pictures everyone. I hope to visit the beautiful places where you live someday. Maybe when the cranberry ship comes in. Until then, I really appreciate the landscape pictures.

Is that anything like drunken non-homoerotic love?

"I love you mate! I bloody love you!" and then you have a fight five minutes later?

I thought you fight first and end up sprawled on the ground in each other's arms shouting out the love.  scratch  maybe we Americans do things backwards.

Figgy was (somehow) right. It is Hadleigh castle and pictures at the end are the views along the Thames that the castle would have been protecting.
