That's great! I hope you find it to be fulfilling. Is there a chance to teach older students as well?

Re: Tales of Home [5]
I like your laugh Hafsey. I would hire you Julia, I had to teach dance to bouncers and hostesses at a night club because my divorce cost me about eleven thousand dollars. It was a forced marriage so natch I wasn't getting anything. They and I were as different as night and day. But I convinced them to wear the clothes that were being featured and the choregraphy went much better! You would be a hit dear.
Once when In a huge city and a telephone conference call operator who graduated at sixteen, a very young sixteen, I met a girl from school who turned tricks because she supported all her siblings(her parents had left them all behind) I loved her so much and sometimes went into that part of town to wait for her and make sure she was safe. Whenever I saw girls on the street I would ask them how's tricks and they would look at my wee kilt and my knees socks and sensible brogues and woolen cardi which were in at my school and laugh and laugh. They would pat me on the head. See I was dressed ever where and did not get a job! When I asked a couple of pimps personal things to know if they were being good to the girls I nearly got killed. Touchy. They were sure I was a narc because of my dress. I was not good face to face!

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Thanks for the encouragement, everyone.
We'll see, but I wouldn't expect to see a lot of them. Teaching older students and adult beginners would actually be a lot of fun because you don't have to engage them in the way you have to engage a child and be able to hold their attention for 30 minutes (and you usually don't have to deal with the motor difficulties and hand/eye coordination problems that a child would have). But older students and adults usually have difficulties finding time to practice. But then again, young kids have this problem, too. {{{And even I had that problem, once or twice. }}}

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Have to pop in to central London today. For those of you that have never seen Kings Cross and St Pancras train stations, this is what they look like. Very different styles right next door to each other.
Re: Tales of Home [5]
Talk about 'chalk & cheese', I like train stations, the more glass & iron & gothic the better I like it, all thats needed is the steam trains, lots of billowing steam, & that nice chug chug & hissing sounds.

Re: Tales of Home [5]
The picture of St Pancras is a bit rubbish... I will try and get a better one on my way back in the few hours.

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Oh hell, I should be doing other things, but Lance's walk to the office has inspired me to post the training hike I did this weekend to break in the boots I bought for the upcoming Kilimanjaro trip.
My plan was to walk along the Hudson river to the George Washington bridge, cross it, and return.
Here's an overview of the trip, taken from the park on top of a very large waste water treatment plant (New York stole the park idea from the Japanese):
The city has done a nice job of revitalizing the river walk recently:
Look at the size of bridge from up close! (uh, still a quarter mile away) This is why it's good practice for mountain climbing...
The view along the Hudson from halfway across the bridge. This is where the famous plane water landing next to Manhattan happened.
There's a nice little park on the far side of the bridge that overlooks it. The GW bridge is the highest capacity suspension bridge in the world: note the two levels. The top of the tower nearest was originally planned to be a restaurant, and the towers would be cased in marble....but then the great depression hit.

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Looks like it was a nice day halfy. I haven't been that far down... think I crossed that Hudson via a tunnel further toward the city centre.
Good job breaking in the boots!
Good job breaking in the boots!
Re: Tales of Home [5]
I had to go to Wikipedia to check which was which, but I did successfully guess that the second one was King's Cross because that roof seemed to match my memories of the Harry Potter films.
Re: Tales of Home [5]
That looks like quite a walk, Halfy. I've crossed the GW Bridge a number of times when entering or leaving NYC, but I've only ever seen it through the windows of a car. I love suspension bridges though. Great pics!
Re: Tales of Home [5]
Love the view from the bridge, over looking the river, Halfy Smashing pics !
There's so much beautiful architecture in London, some of it hidden. Thats why my head is UP rather than looking at the floor when I go out. I love stone work & sculptures, statues, fountains, Lions guarding a property etc etc
