The Legendarium of Tolkien? Nope. This thing is not mentioned once in Tolkien's writing, that I know of.

well the firmament is the sky or the heavens but its not dark green, so maybe its the aurora borealis because that can be green, but its still not dark green, so is it a reference to trees, because that was my first thought, but they are not a firmament, so I am buggered if I know what it means. No

The firmament is also quite round. And although this isn't the sky of which I speak, this dark green firmament is striped with wisps of white.

and the hope of the future spills forth in chunks of crimson flesh.

The answer is a watermelon. Seeds are the "hope of the future".

Damn, so easy, yet so damn hard Laughing Nice one, forest, worthy of Blaine the Mono that one Very Happy

A half is impossible
One is not

A second may follow the first
A third and a fourth is likely to come after

You can count, but not for long

If it's easy or bad, bear in mind I wrote this in 20 seconds Very Happy

I was certain it was going to be raindrops!

Also it's raining on the roof right now so it seems doubly appropriate.
