Nice riddle Mrs. Figg, thanks for covering for that freeloader Bungo!

Yeah but it was still nicely worded and appropriately Tolkien-ish.

Here's an easy little riddle the idea of which I got from a book I'm reading. (A collection of short stories actually; it's quite a good group of stories so far.)

Even when I'm underfoot,
they say I'm on top.
And when people see me,
their eyes tend to pop.

I never stop growing,
even when my head is gray.
I never stand up and walk,
just sit and slowly.. move... away....

It's been over a week, and so:

I looked just awful.
I was a mess, it's true:
a disgrace to myself,
and, more importantly, to you.

Waking up every morning,
hung-over, looking like a trash-heap.
And I needed a shower every few days,
A wash with soap, whatever was cheap.

I blinded your eyes to the truth,
bothered you with my traces,
but did you have to let me go
in a barber shop of all places?

I think it might be Ringo. This one might be a little less known due to accents (or it might not).
