You could try that.

I know what you mean. I was really disappointed when Halfy guessed my first riddle like 20 minutes after I posted it.
Re: The Riddle-Game
I figure I should back away now and let someone else take a stab at it. Don't want to wind up having to do the next one!

In the words of Lauren Hill ''here I come, ready or not''
shining bright like a star
burning bright from afar
no darkness can quench me
the night bows before me
radiant as the moon
to the benighted a boon
no tooth can bite me
no sword abide me
soft as silk
fluid as milk
hard as rock
rings never unlocked
saved a world
banners unfurled
bow to none
shining sun
shining bright like a star
burning bright from afar
no darkness can quench me
the night bows before me
radiant as the moon
to the benighted a boon
no tooth can bite me
no sword abide me
soft as silk
fluid as milk
hard as rock

Is yours Earendil Figgs? And is Eldo's Denethor?

If Denethor, didn't you mean "Sister's son" rather than "son's brother"?

Re: The Riddle-Game
Denethor has a nephew? I got lost wondering if Eldo meant half brother or something, but I think "my son's brother" is Faramir.

I don't think Denethor had a nephew. Theoden did, though.Amarië wrote:Denethor has a nephew? I got lost wondering if Eldo meant half brother or something, but I think "my son's brother" is Faramir.

"Son's brother" was a rather roundabout way of filling out the syllables for that line, though it was also supposed to suggest that the character had (at least) two sons as a further clue (and also allude to his different attitudes towards the two, though that doesn't really come across in a throw-away line).
Re: The Riddle-Game
I may be wrong, but wasn't Theodred his only son? Eomer being his nephew. Maybe being too literal...the phrase 'sister's son' would have given it away immediately.

Re: The Riddle-Game
I'm not sure what you're getting at. The answer was Denethor, and the sons in question were Boromir and Faramir.
Re: The Riddle-Game
Clearly some more of Mrs. Figgs misinformation. I think Halfwise was under the impression that Theoden was the answer.
Anyway, Tinuviel's turn!

Maybe the clue got confused somehow. Here's the riddle again:
War just makes me anxious, but battles make me crazy.
Even if you see good the fog is always hazy.
I got no drama cause the baby mama's in the dirt,
And now my son's brother is about to bring the hurt.

Re: The Riddle-Game
Oh gosh, my turn??? Hmm let's see...
This might be easy, but oh well!
A figure with mouth but voice forgotten
To all but the few who dare to walk in
to a source that has lost its heart and its way
But in lore and in blood shall forever stay?
Ok, maybe it's not easy, but off you go!

Re: The Riddle-Game
I really want to guess something to do with the Paths of the Dead, and the haunted mountain. I forget the details, as I haven't read the book recently enough, but is this close?
Or else the statues of the Pukel-men, but that can't be it.
Edit: (In fact, I'm almost certain it has something to do with the oath-breakers, as, unlike their film counterparts, they didn't really talk. However, I would imagine more specific details concerning their oath-breaking if this was the answer.)

drat-dammit, this one's too evocative to let go. I want to say the statues at Tol Brindir, but the 'walk in' bit doesn't fit.
