I take it this is part of your Grand Canyon trip? If so you'll likely be disappointed by Las Angeles, but you may want to head south of the Border through Tijuana into Baja California. I haven't been there yet, but understand it's developed into a foodie/wine paradise, if you're into that kind of stuff. A whole explosion of Mexican blending with Mediterranean cuisines.
And then there's Vegas.....
Thanks for the tip Grand Canyon is definitely one of the places we hope to see, but Yosemite is #1 on our list. We haven't planned much yet, so I'll read up on the places you mentioned

Very nice cover
Azriel, if you liked the song I would like to suggest you try some live versions. In my opinion the live recordings of 'These Days' are much better than the album recordings This is my favourite version (no idea why WZ's name is in the title, he doesn't sing and as far as I know he doesn't play either):

Re: Music [2]
I like the 10KM version better and I like how they make it essentially a different song (which is often what makes the best covers). But the original is growing on me.azriel wrote:I really liked the Jackson Browne version much better ! so much so that I didnt have the patience for the 2nd vid, tho I still listened. I related to the lyrics of Jacksons, loved the guitar sections, like his mellow, 'Im gonna chill out' voice, Thanks for that Raddy, or I might not have known Its on my Fav Songs list.

That's a nice one. Maybe Warren Zevon played in the show in general? YouTube is not the most accurate site in the world, thoughRingdrotten wrote:

Re: Music [2]
The song you posted Azriel (On Horseback) made me think of this for some reason (probably the parts with only talk). They're not similar at all, really, but it's a very nice song
A couple of other songs by the same group for those interested:

I can see the similarity Ringo Its a lovely song, "The stolen Child" We've both given something to each other And the vid was as soothing as the song was Ive decided I like these ballads quite a bit !

Well, I am glad I could offer something in return - I've been listening to and humming on On Horseback daily since you posted it

It's pretty fun that he did it, though somehow I don't think it's gonna go down as one of the great covers in history.

Re: Music [2]
Well I call this interesting. I know there's a more recent cover that is played all the time, but I can't find it. I didn't realize the original was done with the great Stan Getz - this is a version that's never played anymore in the US at least.
Ah found it....that's right, it was Michael Bolton. Nobody wants to admit he actually put out a great performance that everyone listens to.
