Without wanting to take sides in Petty vs. Figgy, Round 72, I do hope that you will both keep writing because I appreciate both of your "voices" in your stories.

Re: A Midsummer Nights Dream (in Forumshire)
Sorry. I appreciate seeing you playing the role of peacemaker since otherwise it was just six pages of Petty and Figgy taking potshots at each other and Ally sniping at them both from the sidelines.
I think Mrs Figg has made her objections to Petty's writing very clear, but at the end of the day it's only one very brief portion of one scene in the whole story. Hopefully Petty can appreciate Figg's points and perhaps keep that in mind in the future, and we can all move on and either read or not read future stories each at our own discretion.

I can be sincere at times, but I'll never reveal which times those are!
Re: A Midsummer Nights Dream (in Forumshire)
There may be many words applicable and relevant to Eldo, Ally - and several choice words come to mind just now - but 'classic'?

Just when I was actually feeling quite good about myself that Ally deigned to refer to something about me as "classic".

Re: A Midsummer Nights Dream (in Forumshire)
I am sure I will write other stuff Eldo- but I doubt I will put up the rest of this seeing as a lot of what I had already written rather hinged on the Figg character.
And frankly I cant be arsed, and it would be little fun to rewrite it all and have to come with a whole new plot device this late in, especially when the character act is set up in the very passage Mrs Figg has taken total offense at.
Sorry.
"Hopefully Petty can appreciate Figg's points"- Eldo
Normaly yes, this time, not even a little bit. I still dont know and cant see whats so offensive about that passage.

I'm sorry to hear that but perhaps it's for the best.
Normaly yes, this time, not even a little bit. I still dont know and cant see whats so offensive about that passage.
From catching up on all of this evening's posts, it seemed that Mrs Figg most took offence to it being the character based on her who expressed those views on female aging and beauty, which she has experienced in real life, possibly directed at her. I can't speak for Figgs of course, but that's the sense I got.

I ask myself this question every night before I cry myself to my sleep.
Welcome to my world of crippling self-doubt on one hand and the expectations of the forum on the other.
Re: A Midsummer Nights Dream (in Forumshire)
Confusing (and potentially offensive) penultimate sentence there!
