It's not *needed*, but you can of you want to.
I've purchased the advanced pack, with ssl and no adverts and the possibility of having/keeping a custom domain name.
The domain itself... I think I may have to wait untill the one year is over before I can change to a new one. (Next month) Renewal of the name is free, cause we're an active forum, but making a new I assume wil be 1200 credits. I'm haven't stumbled onto a confirmation about this yet.
Anyhow, the donations/credits can be used next year.

Custom domain are yours for one whole year from when you order it. So we are waiting for that year to be over. 30ish days to go.
