Question Mel Gibson's like 5'10", tops.

If I remember right they get round that in Braveheart by making it a joke about his reputation and folk accounts of him making people think he was huge when he is really short.

Really its just because Gibson so woefully miscast himself in the role, not only is he short he has one of the worst Scottish accents committed to celluloid, it changes sentence to sentence. Mad And its about as historically accurate as his accent is good.

Mel Gibson miscast?

A crazy hairy drunkard? Surely that's Scottish enough...

Don't they normally dub over Scotttish/Northern accents for Hollywood? Wasn't trainspotting dubbed?

Not sure if you are serious about that last question or not Malick!

Trainspotting is all Scottish actors, those are east coast Edinburgh accents for the most part in that film (like Sean Connerys, he's an Edinburgh lad too).
Although I heard it was shown with subtitles in some places. Very Happy

No I know that, my mistake, according to wiki:

Upon its initial release in the United States, the first 20 minutes of Trainspotting were re-edited with alternative dialogue to allow the American audience to comprehend the strong Scottish accents and slang.

I don't have any trouble with Edinburgh, Glawegian now that confuses me...
