Re: Music [3]
Continuing with my random 80's binge, remembered how much I like the early work by The Outfield (a English rock/pop band that only really took off in the US, I don't think they were ever a hugely popular band and they disbanded a few years ago, but I like a lot of the songs from their earlier albums, 80's cheese at its best), though they never had great fashion sense/choreography even for the 1980's:

Never noticed the resemblance before, but you do have a point they are definitely better musicians than Clarkson and co though...

I'd never heard the original version of It's Probably Me before looking it up just now but that version you posted is really cool, Blue.
Re: Music [3]
Gregory Porter has been on British TV a lot over the Christmas, advertising his Album. I like him.
The 1st part of Beethoven's Sonata is so familiar I wonder how many people get passed that & hear the rest ? I find the first part so glum but, it lifts its head & flies off, its like its saying don't give up hope.

Re: Music [3]
BTW I love the interpretation of Moonlight you posted, Bungo, though did you notice an extra beat was thrown in before the melody starts? There's a few points where the accompaniment has some notes emphasized to subtly echo the melody, which is a cool effect I haven't heard before. May be accidental since I only noticed it a couple times.

Re: Music [3]
That there is some great shit.
I'm ashamed to say I didn't learn to love the blues until my early 30's. More than anything else it's a music that can't be notated - it's all about the feeling. Only the most explosive moments of rock'n'roll or the deepest paroxysms of Indian raga can compare to it. But in the best blues it's not just isolated moments, it's continuous; raw but sublime emotion.

I didn't hear any extra notes in the Adagio at least, and I do play that at least so I should have been able to. Where were they exactly?

Re: Music [3]
So Dr. Phil came out as a Juggalo yesterday and I still can't believe I just typed that.
I'm not 100% sure what sort of world we're living in these days, but in this case I think I'll take it over the media-stoked moral panics about music of yesteryear.
