In general it was a beautiful visual feast and the music soared. what brought tears to my eyes was Sam and his quiet and beautiful discovery. that was the best moment for me. *sigh* lovely. amidst all the murder and mayhem there are magical moments like that.

Good, I couldn't imagine how they'd wrap up in one more season.

Re: Game of Thrones Appreciation Thread
2 seasons of 6 or 7 episodes.... that will be a pain in the arse to wait for.
Really hoping we get 2 seasons of episodes like the last 2 now. After a couple of seasons of meandering it feels like there is a lot at stake again!

Re: Game of Thrones Appreciation Thread
They'd better be bloody hour-and-a-halfers to make up for it...
Or at least a whole hour long!!

Re: Game of Thrones Appreciation Thread
In the most recent interview I've read D&D were talking about the show being "73 hours" long in total and they've previously indicated that there will probably be 73 episodes so I don't think they'll be radically longer, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see more episodes clearing the 60 minute mark or more. I expect the series finale will be the longest episode overall, possibly by a substantial margin.

Re: Game of Thrones Appreciation Thread
Alway's thought Sam just like Sam from Lord of the Rings is going to be the real hero. Apparently the author George R. R. Martin
named Sam as a tribute to Samwise Gamgee. The guy who did this video must have thought the same thing.
Wonder if Jon Snow like Frodo will die in the end. If you watch the vid, George R. R. Martin states they have similar endings.

Frodo does not die at the end of the Lord of the Rings.
Jon Snow probably will though, but for real this time.

Your right, i always thought he sailed away to Valinor, but some think he died.

Re: Game of Thrones Appreciation Thread
Yeah, it was probably just the film-watching majority who didn't know the lore behind the movies who assumed that Frodo and the rest basically "died" at the end.

Re: Game of Thrones Appreciation Thread
well he certainly left the mortal world so I suppose its not too far of a stretch to think it was a kind of death. He wouldn't be allowed back to the land of the living.
