He mentioned "home in New York". I hadn't realized that, had to look it up. he's moved down to Key West, Florida now because his parkinson's doesn't let him negotiate snow and ice. I'd think a music lover like him might have preferred Austin or New Orleans, but I get the allure of Key West. Have to make it there myself soon - got a niece in college in Florida, and I'm waiting for her to reach legal drinking age.

I guess the chances that I could have run into him at a downtown bar in NYC would have been slim anyway, but I feel like I missed my chance, not knowing he was here. Ah well.

I was playing golf with my mate last week, we were in the 9th hole which runs alongside a main road. As my mate was just about to putt a Funeral Cortège appeared, he pulled back from his putt, removed his cap and saluted the coffin. I said “that was very respectful” he said “well we were married for over 40 years”.
