But, also, I do find "nan" funny as I know that its just an alter ego, that mischievous little voice inside that wants to shout out " go fuck yourself"

I find Nan repulsive. horrible shouting person. I couldn't stay 5 minutes in the same room as a person like that so I am hardly going to watch an hour of it.

Re: Television programmes [2]
I don't stay in the same room with anyone I don't like I just leave, don't say goodbye,nuffink I am surprised at the amount of sweary old bids. I took Simi out & as we were coming round the corner we bumped into an old bird, must have been 80 if she was a day, I said sorry for making her jump & then she started prattling on & I, being polite, listened & then she said about her hospital appointment & how the receptionist who messed up her time slot was a fucking c**t !!!!! 80 yrs old ! swears like that ! O-kay, I'm off.....

Re: Television programmes [2]
{{There are as many sweary old folk as there are young, there as many angry, moody, hostile, belligerent, drunken, rude, obnoxious, offensive old folk as there are young.
But society doesn't paint that picture- it only thinks of old folk as just sort of cuddly old people or horrible piss smelling old people it doesn't allow for anything else and so goes so far as to expect old folk to all act a particular way and even gets offended when they don't. And they don't act like expected because they arent old folk they are people who have just had more birthdays than some that's all.
Nan is funny to me because she exposes that- she looks like the cuddly old granny with her loving grandson, but she is anything but. She fights the stereotype of what an old person should be and act like, and I approve of that wholeheartedly. }}

Re: Television programmes [2]
yeah me neither, but Jude Law was made for this role, its extraordinarily good performance, I never knew he had it in him. I bet he wins some awards for this. its quite spooky beautiful and thought provoking stuff.

I watched the first 6 episodes and I still don't know who or what he is. cant make my mind up if he is a devil or a saint, man or angel, it certainly makes you wonder. I would be interested to hear your theories Ringo after you have watched a few more episodes. the music is fab too.

The first time we saw Jude Law's comic side was in Spy - I hadn't realized he had that in him either.

I have never been keen on Jude Law even in Talented Mr Ripley, but in this he blows it out of the water, I am totally gobsmacked. I actually warm to him.

Well, I don't know. His roles in A.I. Artificial Intelligence wherein he played a robotic gigolo, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, and Repo Men all had some comedic elements to them I felt (dark comedy in that last one). And Dom Hemingway, from 2013 is a full-on comedy too. I've seen him appear on shows like SNL in the past too where he showed off some good comedy skills.

{{Well I saw the first episode of The Grand Tour- and- its Top Gear, its Top Gear even more expensive looking and it always did look expensive, so that's quite a feat of money burning, but basically its exactly like watching an ep of Top Gear. With all that's good and a bit tedious about that.
The main differences is they are bit less politically correct, theres a gypsy gag and stuff about getting fired ect and its ever so slightly more a car show again in that when they do talk cars as opposed to just racing or blowing them up they go into a bit more detail on them.
Here the opening-}}

Re: Television programmes [2]
Just saw the BBC's Africa, narrated (but oddly enough not directed by) David Attenborough. The visuals are beyond stunning. And the giraffe fight is one of the greatest things I've ever seen. Odd statement I know, but the tension is incredible.

Wow.
It's part of the same series with Africa, has the same feel, the same impossible-to-believe-someone-caught-this-on-film vignettes.

Re: Television programmes [2]
watching the new HBO/BBC series 'The Night Of..' wow talk about NOIR! its noirissimo, but great. its very creative and artistic, with interesting use of ambient sound that I have never heard before, its quite thrilling. The title music is very reminiscent of the GOT season 6 Cercei blowing up the High Sparrow sequence.

Re: Television programmes [2]
Ive started watching this I like the way Scandilandinandi's do thrillers. I also like Krister Henriksson very much. I really enjoyed his portrayal of "Wallander" a lot ! In fact I enjoyed "Wallander" so much, I miss it, & had to get dvds. But this thriller is looking interesting.
