No, the village is too much like "Village of the damned", certainly NOT for me. I think that tool chest is beautiful. There's craftsmanship in the very thing that creates craftsmanship.

It doesn't really work with that lighting, does it?  May be why it was cast in a bluish light in the movie.

So there have been several pics of waterfalls from this area in the past.  Some 15 year old kids were throwing fireworks into the canyon and started a forest fire that's burned over 30,000 acres of beautiful old growth forest and is still out of control....

That's sad news indeed. Encouraging that Lt Simmons said the trees look ok so, fingers crossed.

Yeah, the bark on those old giants is often a foot thick, so they can often lose some limbs but survive the fires when the younger trees can't. I don't know when they'll be able to open the trails again, but I definitely need to go see what damage has been done. It's endlessly fascinating to me to watch how nature recovers from disasters!

I agree. It has the same tummy tingling fascination for me also. I'm happiest wandering around, with my dog, in the woods & open fields behind where I live. And I like recognizing changes albeit subtle

I would have freaked out if I had found that forest as a kid. still would.

sorry to hear about that forest Dave. cant stand it when trees get burnt because of idiots.
