What's more, it is their police who beat elderly ladies outside polling stations, they are the ones who start the campaign with a rallying cry which is an incitement to violence, "Let ‘em have it!", and they are the ones whose demonstrations always end in a punch up.

They say that Catalonia is plagued by social problems because our Parliament wastes time arguing about independence instead of passing laws that "truly interest the people". But the truth is that a total of 26 laws of a social nature have been suspended or overturned by the Constitutional Court at the request of the Spanish government."

{{Its the opposite of what Trumps is doing- the SNP are asking upper middle earners and the rich to pay a little more (about 30% of the working population) and cutting taxes slightly for everyone else, which is about 70% of the work force in order to better fund public services for all. It makes it the most progressive tax system in the UK }}}

Today was the last tv-debate in the Catalan election campaign. Appearing were number one on the electoral list of Ciduadanos, number one on the elctoral list of PSC and number one of the electoral list of PP. (Unionist) Appearing for the independentist were number five on the electoral list for Together for Catalunya, and number five on the list of ERC, both had recently spent time in prison, and number three of CUP (independentist). And number one of Catxpot, which are pro-referendum.

Where were the leaders of the independence parties? Number one of Together for Catalunya, the President, is in exile in Belgium, there was an euroorder for his extradition, but the Spanish judge retired it when it became clear that the Belgian judge wouldn't accept the more medieval crimes he was accused of in the case of extradition. The leader of the ist of ERC is in preventive prison, despite an election campaign going on.

Free and fair elections!

Strong message, in the most anomolus elections in Europe I have ever heard of. List leaders in prison or exile, regional bodies unconstitutionally dismissed and dissolved, a Spanish and Catalan (don't forget) media that has hammered the unionist point of view, a biased electoral junta siding completely with one side, intervention in the media channels that have been pluralistic like tv3, election spending completely out of control on the unionist side, illegal email canvassing, interference with the foreign vote, which is largely pro-independence, meaning thousands of people did not get to vote for the pro-independence parties. In the end democracy won in the worst circumstances imaginable.

Agriculture will flourish and ther will be a glorious coming togetherof wàter with barley to be know as wisky. Gold oil and gas , all will be there. {{Here's anohter fine example of Unionist press standards. Last week the right wing unionist papers, led by the Daily Mail ran a slew of stories attacking Nicola Sturgeon personally for 'decreeing' that the Union flag not be flown at Royal celebrations.
Their headline was - 'Sturgeon Bans Union Flag For Queens Birthday' and went on to vilify and attack Sturgeon personally, other unionist papers like the Telegraph soon joined in - 'Sturgeon Hauls Down Union Flag' screamed their front page.

Only problem being it was of course complete nonsense.
And this buried in the 'corrections' sections of today's Daily Mail confirming it-

"We are happy to clarify that the decision to change the policy on flag flying was taken and implemented by former First Minister Alex Salmond in 2010.
The Protocol and Honours Team updated operational guidance in December 2017.
We accept that the policy did not change under Nicola Sturgeon and that she had no involvement in the Protocol and Honours Team updating the operational guidance on flag flying for 2018.
We apologise to Ms Sturgeon for the contrary impression given."

And for the record the policy implemented by Salmond was done in consultation with the Queen herself and the Royal Household and was simply to change the flying of the Union flag on certain occasions for the flying of the Royal Scottish standard of the Lion Rampant. Which by protocol is the correct one. }}}

{{ A classic Tory attempt at a Brexit stitch up and power grab.
The Scottish Parliament has voted overwhelmingly time and time again to reject the current Brexit bill as it stands because things like agriculture and fisheries will go to Westminster post Brexit, not to the devolved Parliament as stated in the legislation for devolution which says it belongs in Scotland if we leave the EU.

Now this was all supposedly addressed a while back when the Tories accepted a bunch of amendments to the bill to sort the issue out- except they never got round to them- 'Amendments promised when the bill was before MPs in the House of Commons did not transpire'- BBC news.

So now the amendments have to be voted on in the House of Lords instead- where the SNP have no members- so the entire matter of the governance of Scotland is going to be decided by English Lords (I find it incredible that's a sentence I still have to write in 2018).

And for anyone thinking its just the SNP trying to cause trouble Westminster's own committee looking into this say in their report- 'that the bill as it stands has "fundamental flaws".
"The committee find that the bill risks undermining the legal certainty it seeks to provide, gives overly-broad powers to ministers, and has significant consequences for the relationship between the UK government and the devolved administrations."- BBC

As things are even the Scottish Tories are saying they cant vote for the Brexit Bill as it stands on devolved issues. whilst voting against it wont stop the Bill it does cause serious constitutional issues if that's what happens- and as it is that is exactly what is going to happen unless the government concedes the points. }}}

{{So quick background- the government did a bunch of analysis papers on the effects of Brexit on the different regions of the UK under various Brexit outcomes, they let this slip by accident a while back so MP's demanded their release but only got acknowledgement of their existence, then the government said they did not in fact exist in any tangible form but were more some sort of thought exercise and so nothing to publish, and now they have been forced to show them to MP's because the overall conclusions reached in them leaked to the press and they have to say "Oh you meant those analysis papers!"
The papers conclude that under every Brexit scenario examined Britain loses, region by region- some worse than others- London will take a 3% hit, but parts of the north of England will take 12% and Scotland, according to the leaks, 9% worse off.
So finally the government are having to let MPS's at Holyrood see the papers (but not the public, as they are still somehow classed as secret in some fashion!) well sort of letting them see them....

'Brexit minister Robin Walker wrote to MSPs saying that analysis documents would be available in a "confidential reading room" at the Scotland Office.
A letter from Mr Walker to Holyrood's presiding officer said the reading room at the Scotland Office would be available between 10:00 and 13:00, and 14:00 and 17:00 on Thursday and Friday.

However, MSPs pointed out that the Thursday hours clashed with committees and main chamber sitting hours, including first minister's questions, while members have responsibilities in their constituencies on Fridays.
Mr Walker also stressed that MSPs would have to book a viewing slot in advance, and said "there will be at least one UK government official in the reading room at all times".'- BBC

As if that was not bad enough the first day they were available there were only the odd numbered pages there until the last half hour!
