A rare occasion to smile whilst watching the news. A scottish skipper on a whale spotting tourist boat was returning to harbour when they spotted a 40ft Humpback thrashing in the water- poor thing had got itself entangled in nets. So the skipper donned his scuba gear, got a big knife and dove in and managed to cut the whale free.
In the interview afterwards the reporter asked "What is not very brave of you to jump into the water with a distressed whale?'
To which the skipper replied, 'Brave? No, I had a knife but the whale was unarmed'.
