I enjoyed its positive message. If I had been a 10 year old kid watching it, it would have made me want to be an inventor. I like its encouragement and the fact its not the usual depressing dystopian message of doom. The ending gave me a little tear or two. cheesy but enjoyable.

Saw Avengers: AoU and Guardians of the Galaxy recently. Wasn't terribly impressed with either, but at least I'm now caught up on Phase II Razz

I thought it was entertaining enough. Just didn't think it was very well-developed.

I liked the first one, but the second one felt very unevenly paced and too self aware, I'm not a Marvel fanboy so alot of the in jokes and smarmy comments went over my head, but it felt very much more of the same...only bigger, louder, and longer than before...

The Vision was a boring antagonist as well...

It was kinda funny it seemed to ignore Iron Man 3 (which I hated...)

The Vision was more of a protagonist, but, yeah, the first one is still watchable. The second one felt...disposable. Almost like an afterthought.

I enjoyed the first Avengers movie as a fun ride, but once the novelty of a live-action superhero team-up movie has worn off, it doesn't have a ton of rewatch value. Avengers 2 was really disappointing to me. Not so much because it's a terrible film (I've seen far worse), but because of why it fell short. So much extraneous crap shoved in to help set up future films in the MCU that they barely had room to tell a story of this film's own.

Kingsman, on the other hand, is one of the best films I've seen in the past few years. Highly recommended.

On superhero films it seems we are in complete agreement Figg Nod

I'd also add V for Vendetta to the list of superhero films that are worth shit.

I watched American Sniper a few days back. I dislike it about as much as the book but for different reasons.

Chris Kyle comes across less of a dick in the film, however the film has some issues in itself, mainly because they tried to put together a story with an antagonist instead of just making it more factual. Could also have done with being 30 mins longer as the end was completely rushed.

Won't be watching that again!

I liked Jackie Earle Haley in Watchmen but little else. I guess it's because I don't much like Zack Snyder.

Wait, that was Mark Hamill?  Forget barely recognizable; I saw the film twice and didn't realize it was him. That's on me though. I thought he had lost a lot of that weight for SW7.

One has to ask, why do 'older' gentlemen have an abundance of ear 'ole hair ? & why do their ears suddenly grow to enormous proportions making it difficult to sit on a bus unless folded up ?

Older gentlemen wonder this themselves. Apparently at some point one gives up the fight against the encroaching/migrating hair front. I haven't yet, but see the buggers reassembling for renewed assaults on a constant basis. My and my tweezers are hoping to hold out for another decade at least before being overwhelmed. I think when the hair goes gray the fight also goes out of one, and the fresh plum ends up a wrinkled defeated prune with mold sprouting out of every orifice.
